Background

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians will be able to deliver an extended Pharmacy Contraception Service which will include a new medication for Oral Contraception and an updated service specification.

The following changes have been made to the POP National PGD and COC National PGD available from NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service June 2025:

  1. To highlight the risk of meningioma with the use of desogetrel, there has been a single line change to the Criteria for exclusion.

  2. Inaccuracies in the medications listed in Appendix B – Name, strength & formulation of drug have been rectified.
