Background

In December 2024, ownership of the specification for the Pharmacy Emergency Medication Supply Digital Medicines and Pharmacy FHIR Payload transferred from the PODAC Programme to GP Connect.

Following the transfer of ownership, the name and hosting location of the specification were changed, and the specification version number was updated to 1.3.0.

The specification enables the receipt of Emergency Supply of Medication notifications from Community Pharmacies, using established technical standards which were formerly part of the Digital Medicines (DigiMeds) specification. It has been relocated without any changes to the core requirements.

This Roadmap Item updates the Digital Medicines and Pharmacy FHIR Payload Standard to reflect the changes described above and to direct Suppliers to the new location for the specification.
