Background

The GP Connect Update Record specification has been updated to address an issue related to pregnancy coding. This update introduces changes to the payload structure used to share pregnancy information of the Patient from Community Pharmacy to the Patient’s GP Practice.

Pregnancy information will no longer be shared as coded data. Instead, it will be captured and transmitted as free text. The text relating to pregnancy status should be approved by the Supplier's Clinical Safety Officer.

Suppliers can expect the following changes to GP Connect Update Record:

1. Updated specification reflecting the revised approach to handling pregnancy status.

2. Revised FHIR examples aligned to the updated specification.

Outline Plan

Supplier Solutions must be fully compliant with the updated specification to onboard onto the Community Pharmacy Clinical Services Contracting Vehicle.
