Foundation-class EPR Lot

Welcome to the Foundation-class EPR Lot Capabilities and Standards site

The products in this Lot will be core clinical or Electronic Patient Record (EPR) type solutions, that provide the foundational capabilities for managing Patient records in Primary Care.

The Capabilities included are Appointments Management - GP; Consultation Management - GP; Patient Information Maintenance - GP; Prescribing; Referral Management - GP and Resource Management. Typically these will all be delivered via one user interface. Although we are looking for Suppliers who can deliver all of these Capabilities there will be options around how Suppliers bring these to market.

This Lot also includes Overarching Standards and other applicable mandatory Standards as defined by individual Epics.

Suppliers must meet all Mandatory Capabilities to onboard onto the Buying Catalogue for this Lot and should take note of the following:

• Requirement GP-IG-18-8 - National Data Guardian Security Standards in Information Governance is applicable for this Contracting Vehicle.

• The following Requirements in Non-Functional Questions are applicable for this Contracting Vehicle:

  • GP-NFQ-U-7 - Supported devices

  • GP-NFQ-U-8 - Client Access Mechanism (Accessibility)

  • GP-NFQ-RS-6 - Network quality/performance

  • GP-NFQ-CM-5 - Storage Capacity

  • GP-NFQ-PS-14 - Video and audio and picture/image quality (may not be relevant to some Foundation Solutions)

We recommend that Suppliers familiarise themselves with planned changes to Capabilities and Standards on the Digital Services for Integrated Care (DSIC) Roadmap. In addition to this, for the Foundation-class EPR Lot there is a list of future considerations for the Roadmap that Suppliers should expect to fall within the lifespan of this Contracting Vehicle.

Capabilities/Standards marked ‘Under Review’ are undergoing GEN2 Capability reviews or are new Capabilities/Standards. For GEN2 reviews, the formatting, terminology and the ability to partial pass the Capability will change. The number of Epics may also change (including the number of MUST Epics). For new Capabilities/Standards, any content is subject to change.
