Description

Enables Health or Care Professionals to record Community Pharmacy Patient Consultations, submit Consultation information to the Patient’s registered GP Practice and the NHSBSA.

Outcomes

For a Patient:

The ability to participate in a Consultation without attending a GP Practice.

For Community Pharmacy Clinical Services:

Management of Consultations with technology provides better efficiency to the Organisation by using mechanisms to record and inform other Health or Care Organisations.

CPC011 - record Patients Consent for Community Pharmacy Consultations

As a Health or Care Professional

I want to record Patient Consent for participating in a Consultation and sharing Consultation data with other Health or Care Organisations

So that the Patient’s Consent preferences are recorded

Acceptance criterion 1: record Patients Consent for Community Pharmacy Consultations

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to manage Consultation Information for Patients

When the Health or Care Professional selects to record Patient Consent to participate in a Consultation

Then the Patient’s Consent preference to participate in a Consultation is recorded

CPC011 - Additional Implementation Details

Solutions MUST comply with the following when implementing this Epic:

  • Patient Consent to be recorded for participating in a Consultation and data sharing for the following services:

    • Blood Pressure Check Service

    • Minor Illness

    • Urgent Medicine Supply

  • Patient has to consent to both of these Consultation types for the Consultation to proceed

  • Patient Consent to be recorded for participating in a Consultation and data sharing for the following service:

    • Contraception Service Consultation

  • If data sharing is declined for a Contraception Service Consultation, the Consultation can be recorded, but the data cannot be submitted to the Patient’s registered GP

I want to record Community Pharmacy Consultation Information for Patients

So that a full history of Consultations can be maintained for each Patient

Acceptance criterion 1: record Consultation Information for Patients

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to manage Consultation Information for Patients

When the Health or Care Professional selects to record information for a Patient Consultation

Then the Consultation Information is recorded

As a Health or Care Professional 

I want to use the dictionary of medicines and devices (dm+d) when recording medication for Patients

So that medication can be supplied to Patients

Acceptance criterion 1: record medications for Patients using dictionary of medicines and devices (dm+d) for Community Pharmacy Consultations

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to supply medication

When the Health or Care Professional selects to record medication for a Patients

Then the medication can be selected from a pre-configured list

And the medication is recorded

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to manage NHS FP10DTs

When the Health or Care Professional selects to print an NHS FP10DT for a Patient’s medication

So that the Patient is provided with the Minor Illness Consultation Worsening Advice

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to manage Consultation Information for Patients

When the Health or Care Professional is recording a Minor Illness Consultation for a Patient

Then the Health or Care Professional is alerted to provide Minor Illness Consultation Worsening Advice to the Patient

CPC004 - Additional Implementation Details

Solutions MUST comply with the following when implementing this Epic:

  • The following text to be displayed - “If your symptoms do not improve or become worse, then either come back to see me or seek advice from your GP. You can call NHS 111 or 999 if the matter is urgent and a pharmacist or GP is not available.”

So that the Patient's registered GP Practice can receive a record of the Patient Urgent Medicine Supply Service Consultation

Acceptance criterion 1: submit record of Patients Urgent Medicine Supply Service Consultation to registered GP Practice for Community Pharmacy Consultations

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to conduct Urgent Medicine Supply Service Consultations

Given the Health or Care Professional is permitted to conduct Consultations

When the Health or Care Professional selects to submit a record of the Patient's Consultation to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA)

Then a record of the Patient’s Consultation is submitted to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA)

Solutions MUST comply with the following when implementing this Epic:

MAY Epics - Describes additional functionality associated with the Capability. Suppliers should consider all MAY Epics as part of their User Research.
