Important Information
Within this requirements catalogue we use the terms woman, women, and pregnant women. However, we recognise that some transgender men, non-binary people and people with variations in sex characteristics (VSC) or who are intersex may also access maternity services. Maternity services and delivery of care must therefore be appropriate, inclusive, and sensitive to the needs of everyone who accesses maternity services, including those who are trans, non-binary or intersex.
The capabilities and requirements within this catalogue describe the functionality of a maternity solution that is either an enterprise electronic patient record or a standalone system. These can both consist of integrated applications and features or multiple products working together. A maternity system / solution should support the Digital Capabilities Framework and the care of both individual pregnant women and populations of pregnant women. The base functionality must be included without any additional cost, but additional products can be integrated if needed.
