I want, to be able to communicate virtually and remotely with care providers, patients, service users and advisory services,

So that I can meet face to face without limitation to email, personal contact etc.

Given the desire to meet virtually/remotely

When the need for advice, consultation or engagement is required

Then tools such as online meetings are available

Self assessment is applicable for this standard and priority will be on clinician facing software as opposed to the entire public facing content of the vendor

As a Healthcare or Clinical Professional,

I want patient consent to be captured in the patient record for virtual consultation,

So that consent management is captured compliant with principles, standards and rules.

When a virtual consultation is required

Then the consent is captured and complaint with principles, standards and rules

The ability of an application to record how a patient wishes to receive correspondence (Email, Letter)

DI-02.1 - Automated Patient Messaging

As a Clinical Professional,

I want to be able to send digital messages to patients from within the EPR,

and, include documents and images with the messages,

So that, I can quickly and easily message and share from within the application.

Acceptance criterion 1

Given the desire to send messages, documents and images to a patient

When there is a need to communicate with the patient

Then messages, documents and images can be automatically sent to the patient from the EPR

AF317 Patient access to records

The ability of an authenticated patient to be able to view their own medical record including:

  • All relevant documents, e.g. discharge summary, care plans

  • All relevant part of care record.

  • Ability to specify contact preferences

Note: It must be possible for clinicians to be able to restrict information for sharing with the patient via the portal where necessary.

The ability of an application to send relevant documentation to a Patient.

AF319 Patient information provision

The ability to send relevant information electronically to a patient. This includes the ability to assign patients to particular groups so that the information they receive is relevant.

As a Clinical Professional,

I want to be able to record patient contact information,

and, a preferred mode of contact, in the same place in the record,

So that, I can contact patients in their preferred way.

When they have specified a preferred mode of contact

Then the preferred contact method is in the same place in the record

Then configurable message templates are available for SMS, email and other messaging apps (e.g. WhatsApp)

Given the need to communicate with citizens through online technology services

When identifying the parties

Then accessibility functionality (e.g. font size or audio) can be managed from within the system
