Additional Services

Summary

This section provides details on the purpose and process for registering Additional Services with the Tech Innovation Framework Onboarding Process for the Buying Catalogue.

Registering your Additional Service(s) should take place at the same time that you register your Catalogue Solution.

Your Supplier Manager will provide you with a copy of the Additional Services Form which has been pre-populated with information we already hold, including details that you provided during your tender application.

You should check all of the details and correct any which are wrong or outdated; you should also select any Capabilities and Epics, before emailing your completed forms to buying.catalogue@nhs.net and copying in your Supplier Manager.

You should remove any information which is not accurate (e.g. if we have a record of an Associated Service which you do not offer, please delete this information), and add details if you offer any Additional Services of which we are note aware.

1 copy of the Additional Services Form is required for each Additional Service.

What is an Additional Service?

As described in the Catalogue Onboarding Process ancillary document,

8.2 Additional Services are optional augmentations of a Catalogue Solution that cannot function without the Catalogue Solution which they augment. An example of an Additional Service would be an extraction and analysis service or an additional module (where such separate module operates in the spirit of the Commercial Standard).

  • An Additional Service must:

    • Be associated with a Catalogue Solution and cannot be available as a standalone Catalogue Solution;

    • Be appropriately defined within the spirit of the Commercial Standard;

    • Include one or more Capabilities […]

  • In order for Associated Services and / or Additional Services to be available on the Catalogue, they must be submitted alongside the Catalogue Solution to which they are associated.”

You do not have to offer Additional Services and Buyers cannot be required to purchase any Additional Services.

Outcomes

At the end of the Additional Service registration activity you will have:

  • received and checked the information we have populated in the Additional Service Forms.

  • informed us of any Additional Services which are not applicable.

  • completed blank Additional Service Forms for any Additional Services of which we are not aware.

  • returned your Additional Service Forms at the same time as your Solution Registration Forms.

  • received confirmation that the Capabilities and Epics selected for your Additional Service(s) have been accepted.

At the end of the Additional Service registration activity we will have:

  • pre-populated your Additional Services Form(s) with any information we already have.

  • provided you with your Additional Services Form(s).

  • a confirmed record of the Additional Services you wish to Onboard.

  • queried or approved the Capability and Epics you have selected for your Additional Service(s).

Selecting Capabilities and Epics for Additional Services

Your Additional Service(s) should offer new Capabilities over and above those offered by your Catalogue Solution. Capabilities selected for your Additional Service(s) are assessed through Capability Assessment in the same way as Capabilities selected for your Catalogue Solution.

The Capabilities and Epics you have selected for your Additional Service(s) will be reviewed to ensure that the Capabilities selected for your Catalogue Solution and Additional Service(s) do not overlap.

In exceptional circumstances, an Additional Service may offer a Capability already offered by your Catalogue Solution, only if the functionality is offered in a different way. Details will be requested before approval.

Completing Additional Services Registration

Actions required of you

  1. Read the “Instructions” tab on the Additional Services form.

  2. Check the pre-populated information already added to the Additional Services Form(s).

    1. Update any information which is incorrect.

    2. Delete any information which is not required (e.g. if we have a record of an Additional Service which you do not offer, please delete this information).

  3. Select the Capabilities and Epics applicable for your Additional Service(s) following the guidance here.

  4. Complete new Additional Services Forms for any Additional Services of which we are not aware.

  5. Return to us all of your completed Additional Services Forms, along with your Solution Registration Form, to buying.catalogue@nhs.net, copying in your Supplier Manager.

Actions required of us

  1. Populate your Additional Services Form(s) with information we already hold.

  2. Share your pre-populated Additional Services Form(s) with you for review and completion.

  3. Reviewed the Capabilities and Epics you have selected for your Additional Service(s) and queried or confirmed them.

  4. Reviewed your Additional Service(s) details and queried or confirmed them.

Additional Services Form

You will have been provided with a pre-populated Additional Services Form for each Additional Service you indicated in your tender application. If you intend to onboard Additional Services of which we are not aware please ask your Supplier Manager for a blank copy of the form.
