The system must be able to perform a quick and accurate triage of low-acuity patients to determine the most appropriate service for their needs. This could involve assessing the severity of the patient's condition and determining if they require immediate ambulance transport or if an alternative healthcare pathway service would be more suitable.

And the system should provide appropriate advice or alternative care options to patients, such as directing them to alternative services or offering self-care instructions.

When the system is accessed to assess and respond to a low-acuity patient,

Then the system should provide an option to use the Manchester Triage (MTS) incident triage program.

And the system should display the MTS prompts and guidelines for assessing low-acuity patients.

And the MTS prompts should be clear and easy to follow, guiding the 999 call handler through the appropriate questions and actions based on the patient's symptoms and condition.

And the system should allow the responses and findings from the MTS assessment to be accurately recorded.

Given that a 999 call handler is permitted to add clinical information to a patients record,

When the responses and findings from the MTS assessment are recorded in the system,

Then the system should ensure that the MTS program is integrated seamlessly into the overall call handling process, without causing any disruptions or delays.

And the MTS program should align with the established triage protocols and guidelines followed by emergency services.
