Supports the registration of Patients and the maintenance of all Patient personal information including demographics. Supports the organisation and presentation of a comprehensive Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and enables other organisations to access this information.

Also supports configuring access to Citizen Services and the submission of data to NHS Digital for monitoring, research and payment purposes.

Outcomes

For a Patient:

The accurate recording of a Patient’s personal information which contributes to the identification of the Patient and sharing of correct data across health and care. Increased involvement in their own care through enablement of Citizen Services. Patient safety is increased and facilitates finding Patients at risk.

For General Practice:

The organisation and presentation of a comprehensive Electronic Patient Record (EPR) ensures up to date and relevant information is available to appropriate staff to support timely Patient care. It supports effective communication with Patients and other organisations as well as forming the basis for enabling access to Citizen services.

For the wider NHS and social care system: 

The accurate recording of a Patient’s personal information, the organisation and presentation of a comprehensive Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and making it available across care settings improves efficiency, promotes collaboration and encourages the use of a lifelong integrated care record.

    • By a Health or Care Professional via their Solution

  • Upon reset request, the VUA reverts to a Status of Inactive and all access to Citizen Services terminated

  • Include the standard information text and URLs when generating VUA credentials information as defined on Information for GP IT Foundation Suppliers

I want the Solution to be integrated with Personal Demographics Service (PDS)

So that Personal Demographics information for Patients is up to date

Acceptance criterion 1: update PDS data based on Solution data

Given the local Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in the Solution is matched to a PDS record

And there are differences between the information held in the Solution for the Patient and the PDS record

When the Health or Care Professional selects to update the PDS record information based on the local Electronic Patient Record (EPR) information

Then the data held in the PDS record for that Patient is updated to match the local Electronic Patient Record (EPR)

Given the local Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in the Solution is linked to a PDS record

And there are differences between the information held in the Solution for the Patient and the PDS record

When the Health or Care Professional selects to update the local Electronic Patient Record (EPR) based on PDS record information
